Tubular steel davit arms can be used along with pre-engineered standard steel poles, pre-stressed concrete poles or wood poles. They allow the designer to easily adjust the configuration as needed.
Options allow the designer to select arm length and rise, include a radius or straight tube. The designer can select wire/insulator attachment vangs including orientation with or without working holes.
How can the designer know that a particular arm assembly is adequate for a particular set of load cases. Our pole bases and thru bolt/stud reflect a vertical and longitudinal capacity similar to the arm shaft. Using pls-cadd, pls-pole, a suppliers pre-engineered pole spp file and the tdv file we provide, the designer can now easily select the appropriate pole and davit arms needed.
Based on the resulting base moments the designer can determine if a thru bolt and base mounting can be used or if a custom base with thru vangs is required.
If a welded base mounting is needed, we will specify the thru vang based on the pole diameter, arm tube size and loading that provides the optimum assembly. While installation of thru vangs at the pole manufacturers facility would be the most costs effective, we can provide site installation or design bolt-on custom pole collars. These can be costs effective for retro-fit to existing installations.
